Garland Storm Recovery Continues

Brush & Bulky pickup underway

Cleanup and recovery continues in Garland following the Oct. 20 EF2 tornado. City inspections indicate 174 residential and commercial structures were damaged with 16 deemed unsafe.

Through the combined efforts of volunteers, area nonprofits and City services, cleanup and recovery are well underway in the neighborhoods hardest hit. Garland's Environmental Waste Services crews have removed more than 1,600 tons of debris so far.

As cleanup and recovery continues, residents also are reminded to put ONLY recyclable materials in the blue recycle carts. If additional green trash carts are needed, please contact Environmental Waste Services at 972-205-3500 and request temporary use of an additional green cart. Be sure to identify yourself as a resident of the storm-impacted area. You may also make those requests via Garland eAssist

A multitude of storm recovery resources are available. We have listed many at GarlandTX.gov/RecoveryResources.
