The North Garland Branch library will offer on Wednesday mornings as 60 minute educational free-play time for families to enjoy. This program will follow family storytime. This program will follow the seasonal storytime calendar.  Learning through play and parent/child engagement are cornerstones to this program.  

 Play and, especially, creative play allow children to build cognitive, physical, and social skills. Playtime is important for children and parents to enjoy together so that parents can play a role in the development of their child’s cognitive and social abilities.  Non-traditional work schedules and busy family schedules make it difficult for parents and children to play together.  Families with limited incomes often do not have access to or can afford educational and STEAM toys.
